Mike Boyce talks to us about how discovering this fund has given his wife the opportunity to retire earlier.

Why did you come to Grosvenor Park Intelligent Investments?

Having paid money into different pension schemes for the past twenty years, the paper work from these had mounted up to such an extent that it really needed organising.

I’ve known John Russell-Murphy (GPII’s Co-Founder) for some years and was confident that he and the team at Grosvenor Park intelligent Investments would be more than capable of deciphering through all the paperwork in order to establish the current state of my pension funds. From doing this, the GPII team discovered a pension fund of £78,000 that I had no idea existed.

That leads us on to our next question...How did you feel about finding out you had this pension fund of £78,000?

Through having different jobs over the years, I found out that the fund had accumulated from a pension I had been paying into through previous employment; so it was a huge surprise.

As my wife has recently had her retirement age heightened due to the sector of work she is in; my immediate thought was that she would now have the opportunity to retire and live comfortably whenever she likes, which is wonderful.

What have you done with the fund?

I have invested the money in a corporate bond and property through GPII, which will both enable us to enjoy a secure retirement.

How are you feeling about your future now?

I’ve started to find that I am wishing my life away; currently being age 63, my wife and I are looking forward to moving abroad in the future and enjoying a lovely long and comfortable retirement.
